As some of you know we were pursuing another Ethiopian adoption. However, we had some concerns about the Ethiopian adoption program. So, on February 15th, 2011 we told our local adoption agency that we might be interested in a domestic adoption. On March 28th, 2011 we first heard about a little girl that was due on May 8th, 2011. April 15th, 2011 at 10:43 a.m. while driving home from the grocery store with Mira and Tarik we received the call. A healthy baby girl had been born at 5:45 a.m in Las Vegas. We were over the moon! Unfortunately, Deven was at work and we couldn't get a hold of him until 11:23 a.m. Mira and I packed, bought plane tickets, got a car rental and a hotel booked in Las Vegas all while running in circles of excitement. We met our sweet baby girl that night at the hospital. It was love at first site. We spent the next few days with her in the hospital and then on April 18th, 2011 all the papers were signed and we became her forever family. We drove home from Las Vegas that day! And that is how we became family of 5! She is absolutely beautiful and we are so blessed!!
